Quality Awareness Programme (QAP) for childminders
A QAP will commence on Tuesday 7th September @ 7.30pm, every Tuesday for 7 weeks. It will be held in the DCCC Offices.
The QAP is delivered by the Donegal County Childcare Committee. It is targeted at childminders and parents and designed to empower childminders to provide a quality professional childcare service and inform parents of legislation and what to look for when availing of a childminder. The course will help to bring Childminders and parents up-to-date on current thinking on childcare.
The main objectives of the QAP will therefore be to:
1. Provide participants with an awareness of the issues involved in the provision of a quality childminding service
2. Enhance the knowledge, skills and professional status of childminders
3. Develop the childminder’s confidence and motivation
4. Encourage networking with childminders in the locality
5. Encourage parents to be conscious and well-informed about childcare
The QAP will include an introduction to Síolta, The National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and assist childminders to become voluntary notified.
Certificate of attendance at this course can be used to apply for NCIP Childminders Development Grant (up to €1,000)
