Building Pictures of Learning: Meaningful Assessment in Early Childhood 
A practical resource developed by Donegal County Childcare Committee (DCCC) that aims to assist early childhood care and education services to implement meaningful assessment practice to inform, support and enhance children’s learning and development. The Learning Story Approach is used throughout the different sections as an effective, child-centred assessment approach that integrates, supports and enhances all aspects of learning and development; informs the provision of appropriate learning opportunities and reveals the uniqueness of the young child as a learner.

Creating Lifelong Readers Project: Nurturing children’s language and literacy through books
The Creating Lifelong Readers Project is a collaborative initiative between Donegal County Childcare Committee, Donegal VEC, Donegal County Library, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Health Promotion Department HSE West and Lifestart under the auspices of the Children’s Services Committee Donegal. The Creating Lifelong Readers project will be delivered through pre-school services and directly to parents in the home. For further information download the Educators Handbook.
