As per our recent communication, you will be aware that the Department has been working with the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) to revise and update its Infection Prevention and Control Guidance for Early Learning and Care and School Age Childcare Settings Operating during Covid. The Guidance has been revised following feedback from the initial weeks of operation of services and in the context of the plans for reopening schools. We are delighted to inform you that the revised Guidance will be published today and will be available on both the HPSC website and on First 5.
In addition, the Department has also published Key Messages for School Age Childcare. While the HPSC guidance is relevant to both Early Learning and Care (ELC) and School Age Childcare (SAC), the Key Messages document highlights parts of the Guidance which are of particular relevance to SAC services.
The document will be available on the First 5 – Guidance for Reopening website under the section for Providers and Practitioners.
We hope that those of you who were able to listen in to the HPSC webinar today found it useful. For those if you who could not join the live version a link to the recording will be available on First 5 in the coming days.
