Description

Kid Kare Crèche and Montessori opened in 2002. It is a purpose built setting which caters for children aged 3 months- 12 years. We have 7 rooms- Little Discovers, Little Explorers, Little Adventurers, 4 Montessori Rooms, and Afterschool Care. There are 5 outdoor play areas which consist of hard surfaces, soft surfaces, slides, swings, climbing frames, sand & water play, mud kitchens and a covered AstroTurf playground. We also have a newly planted, on-site forest which we plan to run an outdoor morning session in, in the coming years.  Outdoor play is highly encouraged in our service and is a part of our daily routine. Our full day service provides 3 meals a day that are freshly prepared in our on-site kitchen.

We have a play based and Montessori curriculum informed by Aistear, the National Early Years Curriculum Framework, and underpinned by Síolta, the National Early Years Quality Framework. We recognise that play is a powerful learning tool which children use to make sense of their world. We plan play experiences based on children’s interests to ensure our curriculum is child led and engages, motivates, challenges and encourages positive attitudes towards learning.

Alongside a play based curriculum, we also incorporate the Montessori Method into our rooms. Curricular areas in the Montessori approach include numeracy, sensorial, language, practical life, cultural studies, expressive arts, physical exercise and social development. We endeavour to support children’s growing confidence in an environment with warm, responsive relationships with a key worker.

We welcome families to be involved in sharing their wonderful knowledge about their child and being a part of our community.

Our staff are warm, welcoming, fully qualified, and First Aid certified. It is our goal to ensure that the needs of all children are met, and we happily work alongside outside professionals to help support the children’s development. These additional supports could be through AIM, Early Intervention, speech and language, physical therapists, etc.
